How to: Express doubt and persuade

Adam: Hey, Francesc, what on earth is that?
Francesc: Oh, I got it this evening. What do you think? Do you like it?
Adam: Mmm... I'm not convinced.
Francesc: Don't you think it's interesting?
Adam: Er, sort of, but I?m not sure about the face, it'sa bit mad.
Francesc: Oh, come on! It isn't that bad. It's really colorful. It's good to have a new picture, anyway.
Adam: I suppose so.
Francesc: Don't worry, it'll be fine. It'll grow on you.
Adam: Ok. We'll see.

How to: recommend and express preferences

Adam: Hey, Francesc, have you read any good books recently?
Francesc: Yes, one or two. Have you?
Adam: No. What about this one? Is it any good?
Francesc: I'd only recommend that if you like really the horror
Adam: No, I don't fancy that
Francesc: Here you are. You might prefer this
Adam: What's that? The Invisible Man? No, I'm not a big fan of science fiction. I'd prefer a really funny plot. I think you'll like it.
Francesc: A comedy...er...OK, well, try this one. It's got a really funny plot. I think you'll like it.
Adam: OK. I'll trust you. Thanks, Caitlin.
Francesc: No problem.

GOOGLE

Google has "a matter of weeks" to allay concerns it is abusing its dominant position in the search engine market, the European Commission has said.
An investigation by Europe's antitrust head Joaquin Almunia looked at whether Google gave preferential treatment to its own services in its search results.
Mr Almunia said the company must now "offer remedies" swiftly.
A Google spokesman said the company disagreed with the conclusions, but would work to resolve the matter.
"We're happy to discuss any concerns they might have," Google spokesman Al Verney said.
"Competition on the web has increased dramatically in the last two years since the commission started looking at this and the competitive pressures Google faces are tremendous."
Formal proceedings
The commission had been investigating Google since November 2010 following complaints from several rivals.
In a statement, Mr Almunia said Google had the chance to outline steps to address the claims, rather than face formal action.
"Should this process fail to deliver a satisfactory set of remedies, the ongoing formal proceedings will of course continue," he said.
The investigation outlined four areas where Google's practices "may be considered as abuses of dominance", Mr Almunia said. They are:
  • The manner in which Google displays "its own vertical search services differently" from other, competing products.
  • How Google "copies content" from other websites - such as restaurant reviews - to include within their own services.
  • The "exclusivity" Google has to sell advertising around search terms people use.
  • Restrictions surrounding portability of advertising content which prevents "seamless transfer" to other non-Google platforms.
Mr Almunia said he had outlined these concerns in a letter to Google's executive chairman Eric Schmidt.

I think the same about Google. When I search on Internet I always use Google, not bing, Yahoo, Avast... For me is the best search of the world. Never I had problems with it. And also the information is classified very well. I love GOOGLE!!!

How to: talk about plans and arrangements

Francesc: Hi, Mr Adam. Have you got a minute?
Mr Adam: Hello, Francesc. What can I do for you?
Francesc: I'm doing a ten-kilometre swim for charity next week, and I'm looking for sponsors
Mr Adam: That's very good, Francesc. What's it for?
Francesc: I'ts for a poor charity
Mr Adam: And when are you swimming?
Francesc: I'm swimming next Saturday. I'm hoping to rais about 200€. Will you sponsor me?
Mr Adam: Yes, OK. It sounds like a good cause. I hope you finish it!
Francesc: I'm going to try! Some friends are going to do it too.
Mr Adam: Good luck, Francesc.
Francesc: Thanks.

How to: Ask for and give advice

Francesc: You look upset, Adam. What's the matter?
Adam: Nothing. I don't want to talk about it.
Francesc: Come on. What's up?
Adam: Well, I've just got this amazing text message from a girl in my class. What should I do, Lucy?
Francesc: Well, watever you do, reply. That's for sure
Adam: Right.
Francesc: And I think you shouldn't show to anyone
Adam: Yes, of course.
Francesc: Yes, definitely. Be happy, I'm sure you will begin a relationship.
Adam: Yes, you're right. Thanks, Lucy.

American Reunion

Last Sunday my friends and I went to the cinema to wath the new film of American Pie series. The title of the film is "American Reunion".

The film was a succes for everyone. For me was the best comedy film that I watch  so far. The cinema was filled to the top. I and my friends (we was 6) we have settled in the last row because there were much people.
At first, when we take the TEISA we arribed late to go to the cinema. But finally we arribed to the OCINE of Girona. There we found a terrible queue.

Finally we get enter to the room and we watched the film. When finished the film we went to a restaurant that is next to the Alveiz cinema. When we finished the sopar we have ran to get the TEISA. Finally we arribed in Banyoles and we went to our houses.

FUGA DE CEREBROS 2

I'd like to recommend this film which I watched
recently, called "Fuga de cerebros 2".
The director of the film is Carlos Therón.

The film is a comedy and the setting is in Spain
(firstly) but then is in the university of Harvard.
The main characters are:

- Adreán Lastra is alfonso

-Patricia Montero is Marta

-Alberto Amarilla is Chuli

Gorka Lasaosa is Ruedas

-El Langui is Vicente

- Paula Prendes is Sara

The things I liked most about the book were the
characters and the theme of wanting to seduce a
girl to th pint of going to Harvard University. Some of the
scenes are memorable because they're very fun.

All in all, I really liked the film, although it hasn't
got a happy ending.
